Buford Street United Methodist Church will host Ann B. Ross, author of The Miss Julia Series, on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. during the church’s biannual Spectacular Thursday event. Tickets are $10 and the event is open to the public.

Beginning April 15, 2012 our worship service schedule will change, with the return of an early service on Sunday mornings at 8:30 a.m. in the chapel. If you would like to be involved with this service, please contact the church office.
Sunday School will be at 9:30 a.m. and the regular Sunday morning worship service will continue to be at 10:30 a.m. in the sanctuary.

Everyone is invited to come out on Sunday, April 29 for dinner and a movie in the Family Life Center. We’ll be having a covered dish supper and watching the movie Courageous. Please bring a vegetable or a dessert. The church will be providing the meat, so please sign up so we’ll know how much to buy.

The 2012 talent show Youth fundraiser will be held on Sunday, March 25 at 5:30 p.m. in the Family Life Center.
We need talented people to be in the show, so sign up today to show off your talents and help raise funds for the Youth program. We want singers, dancers, magicians, musicians, comedians, or any other talented people to come out and have fun and help the Youth program.
Dinner will be served and the Youth will be waiting tables. The menu will be hamburger steak, baked potato, salad, dessert, and drink. Tickets are $5. Please purchase your tickets by March 18 to help us estimate a head count for the food.

The Buford Street Family Life Christian Theatre will present its first show, ‘Pinocchio’, on March 1st through 3rd, 2012, at the church’s Family Life Center on the corner of Buford St. and Petty St. in Gaffney, SC. Each performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are priced at $10 for adults and $5 for students and may be purchased in the FLC’s lobby prior to showtime. This week’s Wednesday night FAD will feature some special guests. The Limestone College Steel Drum Band will be playing from 6:15 p.m. – 7 p.m. Supper starts at 5:45 p.m, so come join us and enjoy some high-energy live entertainment afterwards.

Each Monday in February from 11:30 AM to 1 PM, the church will be offering a lunch that contains a choice of soup (there will be 3 choices), cornbread or crackers, dessert, and a beverage of tea or water. Buford Street United Methodist Church will be having a chicken stew fund raiser on Saturday, January 14 from 5 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. You can eat in or take out, and the stew can also be bought by the gallon. Hot dog plates will also be available.
Tickets are $6 each, or $20 for the family.
We need your help to spread the word and to sell tickets. Please tell all your family, friends, and neighbors. We also need clean gallon milk jugs. If you have any, please drop them off at the church office.

Proceeds will go to the operating budget, the Family Life Center, and the new A/C unit.
